CA 2 Online Assessment | Day 1

Dear Substitute: Please read the following along with students to make sure they understand how to take their common assessment online. Thank you! -KK

Step 1 | Do Now: Access Your Illuminate Home Connection Portal

1. Select the Student tab.

2. Type in your Student ID and Password.

3. Click Login.

Step 2 | Portal Dashboard

Look at the right panel show in by the 3 in the picture. There will be a Pending Online Assessment for me.

1. Click on the Assignments name or click View All to see all available assessments.

2. Choose a language: English or Spanish.


3. When finished with the portal, always Sign Out.

Step 3 | Take Your Online Common Assessment 

1. To begin the Common Assessment, select Begin Test.

2. This area displays all of the assessment information such as title, due date, and the number of questions on the assessment.

3. Here are your questions. Make a copy of your Common Assessment, read each question, use the comments feature to track/annotate each question/answer.

4. Go back to the student portal and click the bubble to select the best answer choice. There will be no questions in your portal, only bubbles. So make sure you click the right bubble for each question.

5. Next allows you to go to the next question in the assessment. Answer choices will automatically save when Next is selected.

6. You may also select Previous to go back to the previous question.

7. If you select Skip, make sure you go back and choose an answer before you finis

8. Select Review/Finish to review your answer choices and finish your assessment.

9. Review your answer choices. Click on the question number to go back to the question.

10. When all of your test has been tracked on your google drive copy, then you may select Finish to end your assessment and save your score.
