Hello 2019!
Thank you for the lovely send off! I am currently on the plane headed for San Francisco. As I mentioned, I will spend two days in SF, and then fly to Washington DC to present our cloud classroom and talk about how KAO students are not only learning history, but working on real-world digital literacy skills-- something you will all have the chance to show off during Thursday's online Common Assessment!
If you have completed the assignments below from last week, then focus on Geography Practice and/or Vocabulary Practice in preparation for the Thursday's online Common Assessment! :)
Did I mention there is an online Common Assessment on Thursday? :D

If you have not submitted any of these, work on them now:
CRUSADES
1. Crusades overview. Make a copy of the document, double click each section to allow you to fill out the chart. Information for the OVERVIEW section can be found in your handwritten notes this week; CAUSES and RESULTS can be found in today's 1/12 powerpoint and digital notes.
As you are filling out this chart, think about:
What ideas go together? What can you compare or contrast?
You are making a study guide for yourself of the crusades.. so be thorough!
2. Answer a few checks for understanding and Turn in your Crusades overview here. (This is how I will know you have completed the assignment for the CRUSADES)
PLAGUE
1. Read and annotate D41 HW | The Bubonic Plague. Answer the questions at the bottom of the page.
2. Please submit the D41 homework completion form when you are finished. (This is how I will know you have completed the assignment for the PLAGUE)

SUB EXPECTATIONS:
If you have questions about the computer, please raise a silent hand for Christopher or the sub and wait patiently to be called on. If it is computer related, be mindful that they may not have the answer and do your best to trouble shoot on your own. Bathroom passes will be limited to the sub's discretion. Please make sure you fill out the bathroom log if he allows you to go, I will be checking it.
Set the expectation and you teammates will follow...
- I am expected to follow all of our class expectations.
- I will act like the mature, intelligent student that I am.
- I will treat my classmates and our classroom with respect.
- I will carefully and quietly complete my assigned work.
- I will set a good example for my classmates and our school.
- I will treat the substitute with respect. The substitute is my teacher for that day.
- I will follow the substitute’s directions.
- If the substitute does something I am not happy with, I can let Ms. Kelly know by writing her a letter or emailing her after school.
- If I feel the substitute disrespected me or accused me of something I did not do, I will continue to follow directions respectfully, and will let Ma. Kelly know by writing her a letter or emailing her after school.
- My words and actions are a reflection of who I am, my class, my teacher, my school and my family. I will strive to make myself and those who love me proud of who I am everyday.
P.s. I will post a lesson that will help you study specific ideas from Rome through the Bubonic Plague to make sure you are prepared for the exam.
With love,
Ms. Kelly
