Intro to the Maya

Standard: 7.7 Students compare and contrast the geographic, political, economic, religious, and social structures of the Mesoamerican and Andean civilizations.




Objective: The HHG Tributes of 2018 will be able to locate Mayan civilizations on a map and describe Mayan social structures.

1. Make a copy of today's handout. 

2.  When you think of Central and South America, what images and ideas come to mind? Use examples, complete sentences and proper grammar-- No TMNT!

3. Reading: Read & track the passages in your handout. Answer the questions as you go. Make sure your annotations are thoughtful and neat!

• Study for next Wednesday's Central and South America Geography exam. If you're good to go, begin North America, including all 50 states.
