Islamic Contributions to the World We Know

Standard: 7.2.6 Understand the intellectual exchanges among Muslim scholars of Eurasia and Africa and the contributions Muslim scholars made to later civilizations in the areas of science, geography, mathematics, philosophy, medicine, art, and literature.

Objective: HHG Tributes of 2019 will be able to articulate how Muslims have contributed to the development of world culture and society.Aim: The historians of 2017 will be able to create a Google Moderator post describing one or more significant Islamic contribution.

Step 1:  read the introduction to Muslim Contributions

Step 2: Create a new document and rename it "Islamic Contributions." We will take all of our notes in this document.






Step 3: Together, we will track this video on Islamic Contributions to the world as we know it.



Step 4: Choose from the following areas of contributions and read about it independently, taking notes as you go on today's document named, "Islamic Contributions."(Make sure you put your notes in your History folder!). 


Step 5: Next, summarize what you learned in a succinct and academically appropriate Google Moderator post sharing your knowledge with your teammates (Only KIPPsters with well written and meaningful posts will receive credit for classwork.)

Step 6: Look through your teammates post and upvote well written summations of the text.

Homework: Independent Choice.
