Types of Government

SS Objectives:

  • Identify major forms of government (autocracy, monarchy, dictatorship, representative and direct democracy, oligarchy, theocracy, anarchy) 
  • Compare and contrast the major features of different forms of government 
  • Analyze examples of real-world governments

Step 1: DO NOW | Complete the Types of Governments & Leaders mind map. Add any ideas you can think of, even if you think they might be wrong.

Step 2: READING | Who Rules? reading together. Be on the lookout for any
types of government we came up with during the Do Now.



Step 3: MINI QUIZ |  One band, one sound. 

Step 4: COMPLETE WHOLE GROUP Activity A (Identify That Government!) as a class.


Step 5: COMPLETE INDIVIDUALLY Activities B and C on the second worksheet page

Step 6: REVIEW answers.

Step 7: Look at our mind map from the Do Now. What is at least one change that
should be made?

Homework:
1. Finish any classwork that you did not complete today.
2. Independent Choice Homework (Remember mixed vocab/geography test on Europe/District 1 tomorrow!)
Note: Beginning Friday, move to District 2 | Medieval Europe vocab!)
